About Social Actions

Social Actions is a nonprofit initiative committed to making it easier for people to find and share opportunities to make a difference on the issues they care about. Our projects include the Social Actions API, an open source database of philanthropic actions from 60+ sites including CanadaHelps, Kiva, Idealist, Global Giving, GiveIndia, and Greater Good South Africa; the Social Entrepreneur API, the first open database of information about social entrepreneurs who have won fellowships and awards from social enterprise funders; and Open Actions XML, an open standard for publishing up-to-date information about online and offline actions and their anticipated impact in XML.

About Open Actions XML

Open Actions XML is an open standard for publishing up-to-date information about online and offline actions and their anticipated impact in XML. Open Actions XML independent of any particular aggregation. Social Actions views the development of a versatile XML schema for publishing information about online and offline actions and their anticipated impact as a critical component of the philanthropic web.
